Our safety promise
WOO is built on consent. Every part of the experience — sharing a card, scanning a code, sending a first message — requires a deliberate, human 'yes'. Nothing about you is broadcast, ranked or served to strangers by an algorithm.
1. Consent-first contact
Your profile can only be reached by someone who has your physical card, keychain or code. Even then, they must send a verification request that you personally approve before any message can arrive.
2. Verification
Anyone requesting contact must complete photo authentication — a live selfie, authenticated by the profile owner (you) — and describe / how where you met. This makes catfishing and fake accounts far harder.
3. A paid verification
A small one off fee to verify your WOOer removes risk of spammers, bots and time-wasters.
4. Blocking and reporting
You can block or report any member from their profile or your chat. Blocking is instant and silent. Reports are reviewed by a real person, and we act on patterns as well as single incidents.
5. Your data and photos
Verification selfies are stored privately and are not public. Your surname, email address, phone number and exact location are never displayed. You control which photos are public.
Meeting safely in real life
- Meet in a busy public place for the first few times.
- Tell a friend where you are going, who you are meeting and when you expect to be home.
- Arrange your own transport there and back, and keep your phone charged.
- Stay in control of your drink and how much you drink.
- If something feels off, leave. You never owe anyone an explanation.
Red flags to watch for
- Any request for money, gift cards, crypto or 'investment help'.
- Pressure to move to another app or platform immediately.
- Refusal to video call or meet in a public place.
- A story that keeps changing, or love-bombing within days.
- Anyone who ignores a boundary after you have stated it once.
Zero tolerance
We permanently remove members for harassment, threats, sexual content involving minors, non-consensual image sharing, financial scams, and violence. Serious matters are reported to the police and we cooperate fully with any investigation.
